We don't need goals!!

In the world where almost everyone is mad about stuff like goals, challenges, targets and what not ? I sometime think is it necessary? What if we care about satisfaction, what if our ultimate goal is peace and joy. Are we born to be a sheep following each other ? A degree, big job, great career are not bad if they make you satisfied. But they are also like a mirage if your mind is not sure where to stop. STOP and think are you happy or if the things you are doing are leading toward happiness..
I literally think that we don't need goals if we want to live in present, the main reason for today's depressed world is a perception that we cant live if we don't have targets.
