Night Lviv Opera!
The Lviv Opera House - an architectural gem of Lviv in the Neo-Renaissance style (1901), one of the most beautiful theaters in Europe.
Built in the early last century by the architect Zygmunt Gorgolewski. Grand Theatre in Lviv compared with Paris and Vienna opera. Standing in front of the majestic façade of the fantastic facilities feel all-consuming power of art, its eternity in contrast to the transience of human life. This structure, in which you can find a variety of architectural styles of European countries, embodied with stilted impressive.
facade forms a very complex and diverse: columns, balustrades, niches, rich allegorical sculptural figures. Above the main cornice facade towering statues of eight muses over them desyatifigurnaya high relief composition "The joys and sufferings of life." Pediment top ends sculptural triad of bronze figures of winged Genius of drama and comedy, tragedy and in the center - Fame, which holds the Palme d'Or. These sculptures were doing outstanding Lviv artists Popiel, Baronch, Wojtowicz.
The interior of the Lviv Opera affects no less than appearance. The interior decoration of the building is decorated with gold leaf (it spent a few kilograms of gold), a multi-colored marble, decorative paintings and sculpture. The four-auditorium has the shape of a lyre, and contains more than a thousand people. The decoration of the stage is a decorative curtain "Parnassus" (1900), a famous painter in Europe Henrik Semiradsky - an allegorical interpretation of the meaning of human life in Parnassus figures.
Hall of the Lviv Opera House celebrated the remarkable acoustics. Here you can see performances of renowned opera and ballet companies of Ukraine and guest artists from other countries. In the Lviv Opera conducted recently revived Vienna Balls.
