RE: Being different doesn't make you a loser but a noticeable figure worth emulating

Wanted to let you know that @stever82 featured your post in their Entry to Week 18 of the Pay It Forward Curation Contest.

So while I enjoyed your message I kept getting hung up on your use of images that you don't have the rights to use. As a newer blogger I'm going to guess nobody has told you that just because you link to a source doesn't give you the right to use an image. The person who created those images owns the rights and on a few of them you are using ones from sites that make their living by selling those rights...trust me don't piss them off by stealing their content. They have a legal team on staff to deal with people that steal their images.

To use an image freely look for ones that allow this or create your own. CC0 is a license that allows you to use an image freely for personal or Commercial use without payment or even attribution. But on Steemit it's best to give the attribution as some get funny about it. The most common place to look is pixabay.com.

If you find images that are free to use make sure they allow for commercial usage as you are putting your blog out there to be paid on it making it commercial.

Hope you understand this information is to help you stay legal and blog in a responsible way. There are many out there that will flag you without taking the time to teach first. Hope this helps you avoid that.

That was quick of you to notice that! I didn't until I read your comment. Keen eyes!

And I read your comment because I noticed it's too long that I wondered what it is all about. 😀

Honestly think that this might be one the things that gets more newbies in trouble then anything. You get on a list like steemcleaners and they flag you big time and there are other accounts too. It's a pretty common mistake assuming that if you link to the source you can use photos but they are protected by copyright law.

I always notice these things...can't help myself. When it's a cut/paste article I flag it and those are pretty obvious most of the time as the average person just doesn't write like a professional. Plus so many steemit users are ESL that when they write flawless English with big words that people don't use daily it's a big red flag and it gets checked out.

Now that is one thing I learn now to be a good curator: notice any irregularity and feed it back. 😊

Thanks for the headsup. I will have to be more careful next time
