I’m a big believer that Virtual Reality will take over the world. I bought my first VR headset late 2016 and it was my introduction to that world. I could clearly see that this will take over the whole world since it’s highly addictive. I bought the HTC Vive for 1000 euros. I have to say that it was totally worth it since the experience was amazing.

But the whole system is more expensive since you also need a powerful computer to run it smoothly. And you need a large room! But once it’s set up it’s truly amazing and you could get lost in that world. For example I want a Steemit 3D app… that would be truly cool. HTC just released their new Vive a Pro edition that is even more impressive.

HTC Vive Pro is a brand new updated virtual reality headset from HTC which is an awesome upgrade from HTC Vive that got released a few years ago. This successor comes with more pixels to create an even better realistic feel.

Main specs: Dual AMOLED 3.5" diagonal screen, 2880x1600 pixels combined with both eyes, 90 Hz refresh rate, 110 degrees field of view, Hi-res audio, Integrated microphone, USB-C 3.0 connector, DP1.2 and Bluetooth!

The tracking features are SteamVR Tracking, G-sensor, Gyroscope, Proximity and IPD sensor! The most impressive thing with Vive Pro is the 615 pixels per inch which gives 37% ppi increase and 78% pixel increase compared to previous generation.

They have also redesigned the face cushion and the node pad so they let in less light to create a more realistic VR experience. if I have understood it correct then audio should also be improved with this new model. They also seem to have integrated headphones on top of this model something we didn't see with the first generation!

One of the big issues with first generation was that it was a bit bulky to take off and put on. Seems like they are trying to solve more of that by making this new generation more comfortable to wear and use by using better ergonomics.

Perhaps this won't be a massive change compared to first generation the key seem to be more pixels but is it really worth a couple hundred more euros? Probably not for majority. The first Vive is still amazing and now you will be able to pick it up for an even lower price!

The specs that they recommend for this new VR headset is Core i5-4590 or AMD FX 8350 processor. In graphics you need GeForce GTX1060 or Radeon RX480! Memory is only at 4GB of RAM which is nice. You also need a new version of Windows either 8.1 or Windows 10! Sorry Windows 7 users...
