What schizoaffective Disorder is like.

in #life7 years ago (edited)

ive personally been battling schizoaffective disorder since i was twenty years old.

Common things that a schizoaffective person may have are
-Delusions
-Audio, tactile, visual hallucinations
-anxiety
-Depression
-Bipolar symptoms

Everything from hearing voices to seeing things in the night sky as well as animals disappearing right before your eyes.
Its possible that the schizo may think of every little synchronicity as a sign from god or demonic spirits.

a schizoaffective person may believe they are talking to god or the angels or a demonic spirit.

in my experience, i thought i was communicating with the egyptian god isis, as her voice would come to me sometimes when im alone. it can be a very scary experience, and if you are unfortunate enough to have a negative experience it may be caused by drug use or improper chemical balance.

personally i am on heavy medications like fluphenazine, xanax, and fluoxetine.
Fluphenazine is an antipsychotic medication which i get an injection of every month as well as take orally every day.
Xanax is just for anti anxiety
fluoxetine is my antidepressant.

I dont like being on all of these medications but i found something that really helped me out on a mental level.
Ive been taking Hemp oil with CBD's after i read a study about it working for schizophrenia and i had a major improvement, although the condition will never be curable or go away.

Schizoaffective disorder is a lifelong disability where everytime you go off your meds and relapse it gets worse each time.

i remember being in a mental hospital twice where i couldnt control what i was saying out loud and i was delusional thinking the workers there were sleeper cells for god. thats where i first got the fluphenazine injection and it helped me out ALOT.

All i can say is that if you are in the less than 1% of the people with this disability i hope you have a good support group.

personally i went around believing my family members were reptillian shapeshifters and evil in secret because of voices in my head and i was really scared.

I haven't relapsed in about a year and a half now, but i still hallucinate things through the medications.

A proper diet can help greatly with the chemical balance of dopamine in the brain and i found this out the hard way.

It can be very hard for the schizo to hold a job or go to work, and i was just battling a disability case for 5 years until i won in a court hearing. all i can say is that if this comes down on you or your loved ones and you need to file for disability make sure you get a lawyer!!
