What's the difference between the heart and the mind?

This is a very nice question first of all. It's the kind that trigger deep thought. It's the kind I like seeing here. More of this please.

Now, to your question. I'd like to say that this is my own take and by no means is it authoritative. My answers are from experience and past knowledge.

The mind is the seat of logic. It's where decisions and choices are weighed. When involved in a situation where some choosing has to be done, it's not the mind that functions then. The mind has to see things like from both ends and arrive at a decision. Its that intangible part of humans that have to do with reasoning and intelligence. It's the mind that issues fed information so that decisions are informed. The mind is the mental faculty (and department, lol). It's the base of memory. We remember that with the mind.

The heart on the other hand should originally mean the muscular organ that pumps blood. However, it's be known to have an underlying meaning. The heart, other than pumping and distributing blood, is the seat of emotions.

Feelings such as fear, love, danger, happiness all affects the heart's movement. That's why the heart today has come to be recognised as the home of emotions. Emotions are not tangible but the heart is. People like to relate with things they can see and feel. The heart is the victim here. It's why you hear words like 'follow your heart.'

The heart gives motion to emotions. With fear, the heart beats faster. With excitement, its not so noticed but it still beats faster than normal.

That's my take on the difference between the heart and mind. I hope you can agree with me.
