Continue From What My Mother Doesn't Know....

During my poly days one of my cousin from Myanmar came to Singapore to study for informatics technology. I fell so happy that I have someone to talk to, before she arrive, firstly I find for her a place to stay. I requested one of my friend from the church and settle for accommodation. My friend was working as nurse in hospital at the time and staying with her working colleagues. Her parents called me to help her while she staying in Singapore.

When I requested to my friend, they are happy to help me. Because it happen to be one of their house made was changing job and going back to Myanmar. At the time to staying at Singapore housing to rent out was only good income people can effort like today. It cost about 1500 dollars for 4 rooms flat. So they share 1 room for 6 people.

My friend brought new mattress, pillow, and blanket for her before she came to Singapore. Everything I need to pay deposits for her. When the day come she and her parents came to Singapore and register at school and observed the situation for her daughter. My friend also treated them very well like little sister and they know that no need worry for their daughter about Guardian. My friend was from Shan state and humble and friendly. She promise me no need worry about her and will help her whatever she can.

They share the room together at the one house. My cousin go to school at near city hall area and my friend go to work as usual. Nothing went wrong and everything was smooth for my cousin. Most of the week end I pay visited them and help my cousin need. As rich people do, very demanding and always like to spend money like water. But with my friend help she turn up much better.

Her first semester was go well and she get her school holidays, than she start to complain that want to change the house to stay with her classmate. She had thousands of reason and end up she shifted to her friend’s place. For the room she need to pay more rental fees and need to cook for herself, even sometime for her friends. But seem to be like enjoying with them. They spent there for another one year contract with house owner. Her second and third semester also did well. At this time, I did not visit her to the house and sometime we meet at church and just phone call to follow up with her.

After contract was finished, they change to another location to share with other friend again because her friend was completed her school and go UK to continue her study. This time her attitude was start to change, watch the movie at the theatre for every movie without fail and start to skip school. When I found out, I try to warn her not to become habit and minimized her expanses. Because she used around $2000 per month, beside the school fees.

I explained that how I difficult to find money in my life and I told her that even my salary did not get $1000 for a month. She was so mad at me and said this is not my business and nothing to do with me. I realized that I become a big mouth for her and try to keep distance. But her parents still ask me to help her and asked me about her expanses issue. I try to avoid to tell the truth about their daughter. But she sow her harvest and fail her last semester due to her attendance was not enough for her to sit for the exam.

Her parents was very up-set and discuss with me about for repeat the semester or drop off from the school. So I suggested to get promise from my cousin to reduce her monthly expense not to stay with her current friends. She refuse to keep promise and gives a lot of excuse to get same allowances.

So I suggested my uncle that to drop-off her school and plan for better school for her. They agree with me and plan for her a school at UK to cover her semester.
