First of all, the major step towards having a healthy relationship is to be sure you are with the right person. You have to be sure its someone you trust, respect and someone you are comfortable with. Most guys usually go for attraction, while most ladies usually go for money. Ask yourself, if these are taken away, would you still want him/her? If know then its not the right person.
(2) JUST BE YOURSELF
A lot of people tend to pretend or put out a fake life in other to please the other person or influence the other person into agreeing to be in a relationship with them. This back fires at the long run because you can't pretend forever. With time, your real self will start to show and it will be difficult for your partner to adapt to the new you.
(3) FOCUS ON THE POSITIVE
Now you've seen the true nature of your partner, you shouldn't dwell on the negative because everyone has flaws. Instead you should focus on the positive things you like about him/her. You should also look at the qualities and characteristics you guys share together and build on that. If there is any part that you really don't like, you guys can work it out by communicating like adults.

Communication is very important in every relationship. The problem is that as people begin to spend time with each other, they start communicating less and making more assumptions.
