Not to be a fatalist, but recently I've noticed an uptick on the amount of animal as well as insect die offs. This prompted me to do a bit of research on the condition of our planet. So who cares about bees and insects. Considering that they account for about 80% if wild plant pollination as well as domestic plants their decline will result in a large reduction in our crop harvest. An alternative would be to hand pollinate. Can you imaging how vegetable cost will increase if all plants required humans to hand pollinate them? I will venture a guess that cost will at least double.

Add to the projected decrease in foodstuff, the growing population (earth population is about 7.6 billion currently) and is projected to be 8 billion in 2025.
