WE ALL HAVE A RESPONSIBILITY TO GIVE BACK.

Good day to you all fellow steemians, today, I want us to take a page from Ronald Conway's book. Ronald Crawford Conway (born March 9, 1951) is an American angel investor and philanthropist, often described as one of Silicon Valley's "super angels". Conway is recognized as a politically-connected philanthropist, strong networker and savvy business investor. He once said:

I believe that we all have a responsibility to give back. No one becomes successful without lots of hard work, support from others, and a little luck. Giving back creates a virtuous cycle that makes everyone more successful.

I couldn't agree with him more. I believe that about half of the world's problems can be traced to human greed, our persistent desire to have it all to our selves. The need to keep taking and never giving back to society. As humans, we are instinctively programmed to prioritize self preservation (what ever we can do to stay alive and on top). So it is natural that we might often want to look out for ourselves or immediate families. Non the less, if the world is to become a better place for all, we must learn to look beyond our own interest. There is this old saying that I love so much: if you are more fortunate than your neighbors, build a longer table and not a higher wall. If we are all willing to share in our little fortune, then no one will lack. Of course we can not all ever be equal, some will always be ahead of others. That is how the world is meant to be.

I know a number of companies who are actively giving back to society in what they call cooperate social responsibilities. These companies take up certain duties upon themselves as their contribution to the communities in which they are established. Schools, portable water, tarred roads and even scholarships for students have all been provided by some companies I know in Ghana.

For me, giving back is not the responsibility of multi-million dollar companies, we, as individuals can as well pay our dues to society. It doesn't really matter who you are or where you find yourself, even on this steemit platform, I see people changing the lives of others everyday, 1 SBD at a time. Let's share in the little that we have, don't wait till you have enough because that day will never come. So get out there and touch a life, give back to society.

I would like to support your post with “Law of Abundance” which says, if we want to have an abundance of something, we need to become a giver first. And this is completely true and in my personal experience, I have seen people becoming much more helpful by taking the initiative to extend our own hands to help them first. It has its roots in the study of spirituality which one should definitely consider reading.

Indeed, we find more by giving to others.
