Puppy Therapy Anyone?
Oh Puppy LOVE! These sweet puppies are nearly 7 weeks old, and they are German Shepard puppies.
They were born on April 22, 2017 to my 3 year old German Shepard named Navas. Her favorite thing to do during her 2 month pregnancy was to sit in the sea and relax. This was her last trip before delivery.
Navas had no idea what she was getting into as this was her first (and last) pregnancy. She bore 14 pups, although 4 died in birth and one the next morning, leaving her with 9 puppies, 3 males and 6 females.
Navas has only 8 good teats for her 9 pups so I supplemented with goat milk from the beginning and before we knew it, they were lapping it up. However, we still depend on Mama, even today at nearly 7 weeks and already eating puppy chow.
We became social and started playing with each other around 4 weeks of age. We also received our first visitors.
Here are a few "cutie pie" pictures of us taken yesterday.
We are happy good puppies that make everyone smile when they see us.

Oh my goodness!!!!!! Navas is adorable! And her pups - I wish I could say - can we have one? She is so happy to be a Mamma. She is a good Mamma. She is very balanced but gets tired quick (who wouldn't with 9 puppies). She says thank you for helping her. She loves you. She loves the ocean and misses it a bit. But she knows she is needed here. She is happy that no more babies will come it took a lot out of her. Her puppies are so happy! They know love from you and their Mamma and the goats milk was a great choice. Wow they keep you on your toes! Most especially as they are moving around so much! I wish I could pop over and sit on the ground and be surrounded by them all!! Lol!! Can you imagine all the licks I would get!!!!

I now know where you are - Costa Rica! I had a feeling you were located there. Then when I read Pura Vida it was a confirmation. I went to Costa Rica a few times and did research with Wild Capuchins (ethology). 😍

Yes, I do! The pups all have their sun in Taurus, and most have their moon in Pisces with the last one Moon in Aries. I am keeping the first pup, who I call Quinn (he has on the turquoise collar) and the last one Rocky who is the runt as well, as her moon in Aries, and the smartest little girl.
Navas is a super dog. I love her so much. She actually bore 14 pups!!! And 4 were still born as the had broken their sacks before birth. We lost another healthy puppy in the morning that I think was accidentally smashed. Navas was so sad, and she kept trying to return the lost pup to whelping box as I dug the hole. We buried the pup together in front of a gardenia start I had just installed.
Oh you are such a wonderful human to her. It is a huge emotional loss to our animals when they lose a baby or a companion. Their feelings run very deep. I would tell you about my mare and her aborted foal - its a long story. Before I adopted her. We used homeopathy to release these events in her timeline. I also use aconite for shock and trauma as soon as it happens so these emotions are not frozen in the tissue of the body-mind and do not crystalize as deeply. A hug and stroke for your Navas. Oh how sweet you are keeping 2. You know I always love the runt of the litter they are usually very unique in their make up. Oh I can feel the difference between the two and their beauty. Navas is so proud of her babies. Every single one of them. So proud!
Thank You my dear! The puppies are 7 1/2 weeks old today so this is the last week that most will be with Mama. They are all maturing so much and ready to bond with their special humans. Many of the future owners have come and visited weekly the puppies, so it is exciting that they have loving homes to go. I only have 1 female who is available but mainly because I have not been pushing it nor advertising, just word of mouth, as I want to attract the special owner for her. No worries. All in good time.
