I wasn't always old and ugly!
Even I was young and handsome.....
once upon a time!
Just as we all have an inner child that needs to be acknowledged, respected, loved and sometimes healed...let's not forget that we all have an inner elder that will be revealed over time. Let's make sure we have treated him or her with the respect we hope they will deserve. Start today, if you haven't started already, by becoming the best you that you can be!

Yes, @twiceuponatime and I were getting along a little better back in those days. I'm afraid that @twiceuponatime hasn't aged as well as I have. He's gotten cynical and crotchety. :-)

We should all treat ourselves with respect cause we tend to care to much about everyone else around us and we forget about us. Then nothing seems to work. You cannot truly care about anyone if you don't love yourself first.
Unfortunately we reject and repress, then project, the "unlovable" parts of ourselves instead of transforming them by loving them.
That's true... Taking an honest look at ourselves it's the right thing to do... But without being judgmental and hating what we consider wrong..
I can only imagine how being old must suck, I'm not anxious for it at all...! :D
But it definitely must have its advantages.
Sometimes being young sucks a whole lot worse (because one can be so damn ignorant when one is young -but full of a pompus attitude anyway, LoL). But then again, one can be old and ignorant too :-)
Indeed, god help us from being old and ignorant, that's the absolute definition of a "sucker".
