5 Sections of Cultural Commentary in 2020

2020's Cultural Commentary may be sectioned into 5 different categories, listed and explained below:

This list is ranked from the highest-level of cultural commentary, meaning the most understandable, to the lowest-level, meaning the most substantial and difficult to understand.

1. Music - Emotional commentary
   Spotify gives us free and instantaneous access to songs reflecting the emotional current of our culture. The songs that top the charts are indicative of the type of feelings most commonly shared around the world at any moment.

2. Sports - Communal commentary
   Live sporting events provide our culture with surprise, thrill, debate, and community. Sport allows conversation on seemingly non-consequential events that then form communities and help maintain a current of awareness and anticipation that reinforces the community.

3. Streaming - Entertainment commentary
   Netflix and Disney Plus give us a water cooler moment. We may easily form bonds over last night's entertainment, like over how cute Baby Yoda is, and experience simple pleasures together.

4. YouTube - Status commentary
   Every social system has a structure of organization. YouTube acts as an intentionally one-way portal to our current form of organization and status. You go to YouTube to see celebrities and watch in awe how lavishly people can live. There is social commentary as well, but again, this is from the viewpoint of our current celebrities and status symbols.

5. Reddit - Social Commentary
   An online forum is today's town square, except for it's international. People all over the world come to Reddit to share and create ideas. Then, people all over the world critique and discuss said ideas. This is our digital social commentary.
