THAT AWKWARD MOMENT #45- “GOOD COP, BAD COP; A SECOND CHANCE TO LIFE”

That Awkward Moment is back again friends; it is the 45th week running of this series that tells real-life scenarios fictionally on the steem Blockchain. Not so long but one of the longest running series that had inspired dozens like it to spring up. Please do not look at the past pay-outs or rewards, but read and learn from the real-life experiences.

“GOOD COP, BAD COP; A SECOND CHANCE TO LIFE”

Not many people like the Police, "cops, po-po, olopa, gringo, eke, policia" or whatever name you have for them where ever you reside on the globe. Despite the popular belief that Police is our friend, they are in fact as good as criminals roaming the streets but they are in uniform while committing their own crimes, hence the hatred for them is real whether hidden or in plain sight. Despite the hatred, they still remain a crucial part of this corrupt system of the world.

However, there as many Good cops all across the countries as well as the bad evil and dirty ones. Officer Kyle is one of those dirty ones, he had worked over a decade and yet to attain a senior detective role, therefore this corrupted his soul.

Mrs.Kyle never knew her husband had compromised; she doesn’t have any idea that her sweetheart had gone rogue, taking bribes and cuts from drug deals as well as averting justice for a good price. Even though he is a good dad to his wife and three lovely kids, he is a dirty cop to the society. But no other person knows this except him, some cartels leaders and a few dirty cops like himself.

Late in the winter, some new cartel wanted to take over downtown from the original landlords who officer Kyle and his band of merry dirty cops were on their payroll. The past couple of weeks have been bloody; too many gang-related shootings and dead bodies have been recorded. All police officers in the district were placed on double shifts to bring the bloodbath to a halt.

Officer Kyle was on a late night patrol one cold winter night, he parked his patrol car in the alley waiting to do some of his dirty business, to drop off a package for some clients like he uses to do. Tonight was a wrong call, and errand went sour as the recipients of the package rolled up in their Red Cadillac, another SUV came out of the darker cloudy street at top speed emptying its heavy caliber machine gun at the two stationary police car and the Cadillac.

Blood was flowing on the sidewalk, everywhere was now dead quiet after the gunshots. Two hit men dressed like ninjas came down from the SUV to check their kills, spots the police officer who was soaked in blood but still managed to be breathing, probably he was wearing a bulletproof vest one of the hitmen thought to himself. Kyle managed to mutter towards the two men; “please don’t kill me, I’m a cop!”

The shooters looked at each other as if waiting for orders on what to do next from each other, one kicked his leg out wide and the other removed his handgun and the cuffs. The hit-men left, and then one turned back, opened the squad car and dialed the home button. From the other end, a shrill female voice spoke into the transmitter “dispatch, what’s your status?”

Kyle was looking in disbelief as the hit-man passed the coiled dispatch talkie to him; he turned and entered the SUV before Kyle could say a word the Zooming sound of the car could be faintly heard in distance.

Officer Kyle woke up from comma about three months later; all his dirty colleagues had been killed; only he was left alive for a strange reason not known to anyone. He cried all through the debriefing, other officers thought he was mourning his fallen mates but deep down inside him, he was thankful for another chance given to him by the hit-men who never finished him up, another chance to make amendments!
