Moving Big in Canada

in #life7 years ago

When I moved to Canada the first thing that caught my eye (besides the size of the country itself) was the size of cars, buildings, and equipment.

Today I want to share with you a few photos of structures and buildings which you can see traveling every day on the Highways, and even rural roads.

Even trains here are heavily loaded. They have containers in two levels and they are the last thing you want to cross your way. Once I was lucky enough to count them, being stuck in front the level crossing barriers. I counted until 100 and gave up.

Can you imagine the surprise when you see the house coming your way in the middle of nowhere? The funny thing was that I first spotted the roof since the road was tilted slightly downhill. At first, I thought the house was standing on the road by itself.

Do you need a workshop? On Wednesday? No problem, we got you covered.

Maybe a small private refinery? You are closed on Thursday? Then Friday will still be soon enough.

If you don't want to get your hands dirty we also have an office for you. Wi-Fi and AC included, of course.

That is all for today. I thank all of you that took the time to stop by.

Please, nevermind the bugs on my windshield. There was a big killing spree season at that time.

That is amazing :) no more packing and moving, just load up the house and let's go

You can cook dinner while you moving if you want.

If these things become ubiquitous enough, kinda reminds me of Lego / Minecraft. Just plug and play :D

I'm sure it already exists. Those are just photos I'd took randomly on my trips. If you have time to sit by Highway and observe the traffic for a couple of hours I think that you can build a small city from all the semi assembled stuff passing north towards Fort Mcmurry. Not so much last two years, but still some.

Lots of room for all kinds of stuff her in Canada eh! When we were kids my parents actually moved there house on a flatbed kinda like the blue one. They even needed the hydro company to escort the rig and raise some of the wires as they went. Thanks for sharing, brings back some memories.

You right, lots of room. If they bring here all those people talking about overpopulation and moving on Mars and that kind of crap. They would change their minds for sure. Thanks for stopping by.

I do not think I have ever seen a house on a truck before!

Here you can see it quite often. You can buy an older house in Edmonton and instead of demolishing it, you can sell it and the buyer then moves the house to his location and you built a new one. I saw the ad that it cost 25 to 30 thousand CAD to move the whole house.

That's quite cheap in the grand scheme of things to move It.

You just need a lot and you can buy 25 or 30 years old house in good condition and save big. And you can move in right away or even before you move it.

I could not imagine driving any of those trucks

hahaha tell me about it @cryptofixer

Upvoted and RESTEEMED :]

Well, one thing is apparent. Canada knows how to move big shit! Insane . . . Now that is a feat.

It's so big and wide country that it must be that way, otherwise, it's pointless and you don't get anywhere. Thanks.

woww!!! it's so surprised me, i never see before about that.
i can't imagine how the driver of trucks drive their cars

really stunning @oldtimer

Omg hey Im a canadian too!! Where is this btw? I remember in high school I used to take the train to go to school and sometimes there would be merchandise trains (like the ones on your picture) and some dudes I knew would jump on them and then jump back on the train platform. Insane stuff haha:P I hope you like Canada as much as I do! Best country in the world to live in :) xoxoxox
