Cant Beat Kayaking in the Summer

We live on the lake so the kayaks are just a few stops away.

When the summer days start to get long, there is no better way to relax than taking a nice paddle as the sun fades.

I have a 12 foot Pelican. Its not a high end kayak but its been perfect for me. I'm a big boy and this kayak feels stable. I have had it now for 4 years and its going strong.

I opted for bright yellow because you want to stand out as much as possible so you are seen by the ski boats!

My son has a 10 foot Pelican kayak. He's had it since he was 12 and hes not quite as big as I am, but hes getting there!

Every time we go out, and we go out several times a week, there is always something new to see. Every year we have a husband and wife swan that have usually 6 or so babies which we affectionately call the Swan Family lol. It is really fun to watch them grow up. Many years not all of the babies make it, but I am happy to report last year they all grew up and before long you couldn't tell the babies from the parents!

One of my favorite things to do after a stressful day, is to head out on a full moon night. There is really something magical about being alone with just the waves slapping the side of the kayak as you rock in the moon shine.

I have loads of kayaking videos in a playlist on my YouTube channel. Please feel free to check them out. Here is one that I like because I got a once in a lifetime shot of a blue heron catching a fish. We were shocked LOL!!

Lol I'm the same with heights.... I'm a right wimp

Hey that OK coz us wimps will live longer!!!! LOL!!!!!!

That's true LOL or die from boredom

Nice post!!! We have lots of herons here in NJ. I even have one that hangs out at the small pond behind my house. But I've never seen one lunge off a dock with tactical precision and snag a bluegill, very cool.

Yeah I wasnt expecting that!!!! That was one lucky shot! Thanks a bunch for checking it out!!!

Great to be in the water with a kayak. I was an avid canoe guy my whole life but I've been switching over to the kayak in the last few years. You've inspired me to put up a post with a few cool shots of my own!

What lake are you on?

Good stuff @old-guy-photos

Ive never been in a canoe, but isn't that mainly for 2 people? I find that a kayak is very free feeling because you can go as a group or alone. Plus once in my kayak, I feel totally stable and never tipsy.
Ill have to do up a post showing even an old fat guy can learn to jet ski too. On thing that I really enjoy is a pontoon paddle boat. It has 2 bench seats for 4 people. Super stable and relaxing!!
I think it would be really cool to see your footage!

I used canoes for years to go deep into the wilderness on portages. They can carry a lot of gear but some can be a bit tipsy. You can paddle a canoe solo but it takes a lot of skill. The kayak is also a lot faster but you tend to get a bit more wet with the kayak!

Your many amazing life adventures is definitely part of what have shaped you into the old giving dog. It is evident in the tone behind your words and in your countenance even before looking at your deeds. Many have had many adventures as well but haven't evolves or grown with it, they have mostly just had fun and some don't know that a key essence of travel and adventures is to grow, find yourself a bit more, ponder, marvel at creation, understand life better etc. Thank you for sharing you! You teach!

Thnaks so much for the beautiful comment! i appreciate the kind words!

I look forward to seeing it on YouTube buddy :)

Well hello Bob! Be sure to check out Robert at @c0ff33a.
I know you love tech there is LOTS of tech here. We recently moved from a 1 day payout to a 7 day window. This reset the rewards pool, but it should be filled up in next several weeks. Till then payouts are less than they will be. If you scroll down on my blog, you will se I was doing pretty good! Made about $180 from doing a few posts!!!
