A Lamb Among Lions
When a lamb suddenly finds itself in the midst of lions what should it do?
Fight them? It will get devoured.
Living an innocent life in the midst of crooked individuals is such a dangerous thing to do. However, what should you do? Play smart!
A lot of people are not innocent. They seek who to outsmart, who to cheat and who to use.
No matter how we try to deny this fact, it is true that our world is filled with wolves in sheep's clothing. They pretend to be friends, business partners and associates. Therefore, if you are among the few who still believe in honesty, fairness and kindness, then you must learn to protect yourself from outside aggression before they devour you. You are the lamb who needs to play safe and smart.
In all you, try to watch your back. Play safe. Don't let them take you unawares.

Act like a wolf?
Yeah, hence the phrase 'know your enemy'.
I see how the phrase can be misunderstood, what I mean is we have to put ourselves in their shoes to know what we're dealing with
The current society is unfortunately very deteriorated, many values have been lost, among them honesty. Many people are dedicated to take advantage of the sheep, and in that we must be attentive ... In my case I always put myself in the hands of God, I put my day in his hands every morning and I ask him to direct me, to direct each One of my steps and show me when someone dishonest comes to haunt me. It is difficult to know for ourselves who is dishonest. We must be very attentive and also not let ourselves be contaminated.
Because YES, you can be sheep in the midst of wolves.

In this world of ours where everything you see most times isn't as it seems, if you decide to stay on the path of doing right, you probably take on the sheep personality, but if you keep staying innocent as the sheep most times is, you might end up being devoured. Our world is too aggressive to stay too quiet as the sheep, you need to be smart as you @ogoowinner said and aggressive i'd add.
The bible most times liken Jesus as The Lion and The Lamb and we should take after His likeness, and the implication of "The lion- Lamb personality is that..we need the humility of the Lamb to sustain the authority of the lion in this dangerous world that we live in.
So to escape the antics and wiles of the wolves probably dressed in sheep clothing, be humble as the sheep, but carry the smartness and viciousness of the lion.
