The Blockchain and the Need For Time Travellers

"If history repeats itself, and the unexpected always happens, how incapable must Man be of learning from experience."
George Bernard Shaw

This post was inspired in part by @stephenkendal yesterday's post about the blockchain being the new database, you can read the post here.

Stephen was amused by the fact that everyone is running about, frantic in their bid to really understand the blockchain and how it really works, while as an old timer Stephen has seen similar times when the database was introduced in the 1980's and they had to go through the process of learning how to save, index, sort, and extract data without any real form of guidance.

So does history repeat itself, and if ,yes, why do people easily forget about what has happened in the past and go through the same process of denial, pessimism, and criticism.

We find our selves reacting to different ways to new ideas we don't understand, When the personal computer was introduced in 1980, Thomas Watson, the chairman of IBM at the time said that he felt that there was a market for maybe five computers, he never believed that anyone would want a computer in their home.

The blockchain has faced a lot of criticism in the past months, a lot prefer to talk about it's weakness and fail to see it's many strengths, what these people fail to remember is that nothing comes fully made, it has to go through a process of polishing in other to reach it's full potential.

Since the beginning of the world, every new idea has faced a lot of criticism by Men of little minds who fail to see the big picture, ranging from the radio, the airplane and most recently crypto-currency.

We need time travellers, people who have an understanding of the times and remember what has happened in the past and how the future is being shaped by similar events, and know that we have only scratched the surface of what the blockchain really holds.

People fail to appreciate things when they are fairly new, they prefer to wait till it has been confirmed by the powers from above before they pay any attention to it, I joined Steemit on January, and sice then i have told everyone who would listen to sign up and start blogging on the platform, but no one is paying attention, probably because they have not heard about it on CNN other media outlets, Some one told me to my face that i won't be able to spend my earnings because no one will accept it, he swallowed his words this morning when he saw me pay @shayne in Steem for my new avatar.

I am a time traveller myself, and why some might be afraid to commit, i am in this game for the long haul.

People are so resistant to change.

And change is the only thing constant

That's the irony. I have all but given up on trying to tell people who don't want to hear about new and exciting things.
We don't need time machines. A lot of people are permanently stuck in a time lapse. The past is all around us.

What I mean by time travellers is people who have an understanding of the times and seasons, and place great value on innovation.

You can help the post get more coverage by resteeming it. Thanks

I feel we are all destined to be there at the very beginning of the' cryptocurrency era' .

What's the bet, in the future, nobody will believe us when we tell them we were one of the first ones :)

History does, indeed, seem to repeat itself... the question is how do we get anyone to actually listen to the time traveler?

Humans are funny... they also broadly resisted the "horseless carriage," and the idea of the Internet, itself.
