My Most Recent Bits of Awesome
I got ninety-nine problems but Steemit ain't one.
Whatever, my last post bombed. The comedy stuff here, it can be a real bitch sometimes. The money doesn't always matter though. If one was to search the first two words from the title of my last post, they'd find me on page four. I like hiding little gems among the societal chaos. There is a method to my madness, most days.
Another article which follows the same story line as my most recent post gets ten to twenty views daily. I published that thing months ago. More old articles of mine are also taking off again. One recently broke the 250 view mark, no signs of slowing down. It's too bad I don't get paid for that. Maybe someday.
I still get a chuckle every time I read articles that mention ways that might work to help bring more people to this great platform of ours. I explained in great enough detail how I'm pulling this off. Nobody reads, that's their loss and I certainly can't keep repeating myself. Just know, I'm taking one for the team here. Some of my stuff gets passed around and that's good for business.
I have more good news.
The ten million vests achievement, yeah, earned it. You're all so great for having my back. I didn't pay a dime for any of this Steem power, but I certainly worked my ass off to get it. I hope you all don't get sick of hearing thank you. Maybe I say it too much? I hope I'm not starting to sound like a skipping CD.
In the midst of my usual chaos here, I've been taking the time to write a few notes like this. It's not bragging, you're all my investors and as such I feel you deserve to be informed.
My current plans are much the same as the last time I wrote about them. I've changed back over to 50/50 posts though. The SBD I earn still goes to Steem Power, but I like buying the Steem when the prices are right. It's not much, but I do get a little better of a bang for my buck, if you know what I mean.
I'm still voting manually. It's still true, if you see my name in the list of voters, I'm also one of the viewers. I read it all. I feel it's important to know what I'm voting for. I'm loading up on Steem Power for the sole purpose of helping you folks out as much as I can. I'm one of the Steemit members who has invested into that crowd sourced whale. My vote is more powerful than that, but I still feel like it was a good investment. I'm secretly racing it to the top. I play dumb games like this with myself on the daily.
My account is the 1266th most valuable account in all of Steemit. That doesn't mean I'm rich though, so calm yourself. I do consider this status quite successful considering the amount of accounts in existence. It's not good enough for me though and I won't be setting a goal because I won't settle for anything less than being the best.
That's About All I Have for Today
I hope you enjoyed my words and art. Today's cover is titled No Not Now. The second image you saw is Melvin and finally Holly Jolly Firefall.
Fire seems to be a recurring theme within my latest artworks. I can't really explain why. I did have a dream the Earth got smoked by a space rock, but I don't claim to be a psychic. Let's all hope that doesn't happen though.
Thanks for stopping in, thanks for actually reading this far, and have a great day.
This post has been ranked within the top 50 most undervalued posts in the first half of Dec 26. We estimate that this post is undervalued by $5.70 as compared to a scenario in which every voter had an equal say.
See the full rankings and details in The Daily Tribune: Dec 26 - Part I. You can also read about some of our methodology, data analysis and technical details in our initial post.
If you are the author and would prefer not to receive these comments, simply reply "Stop" to this comment.
I was a manual voting purist, but I'm also a bit pragmatic. I want to support the authors I like, and I want the curation reward for upvoting them early. When people are posting content while I'm busy elsewhere, I need my slave bot to work the magic for me. I get to give some love and get some love at the same time. I'm voting for the authors I regularly read, so I eventually get around to reading the posts anyway. Playing with SP is a game in itself. A power game. Everybody wants to rule the world. ;-)
The bots have their purpose. I certainly don't mind the auto votes and I know I've earned the honor of someone flipping the switch.
I do miss the response though. I like writing back to these comments and speaking with everyone. The more people who use the bots, the less human interaction I actually see. For some people, it's not even worth dropping a comment under their work anymore. They publish and run while the bot votes and everything else gets ignored. When they come back again to publish something else, maybe they'll drop a short little generic response. I'll look in their comments and see the same one get passed around over and over. It's embarrassing at times.
This platform needs users to be around in order for it to fully function. The way of the bot works great for many but takes away the social aspect. Many new users get left in the dust because nobody is around to see them and begin following their work. Sure, the curation rewards are rolling in. What are they worth though once everyone quits and all we're left with are the selected few authors who publish and run? It's a dangerous road to take when thinking about the long run.
G'Day Awwwstraylia! I like the purist/pragmatic blend and honesty around that - I just hope that you follow content rather than numbers - the concentration of SP will only be humanely distributed thus! The guilds are just another dolphin/whale control system. Keep writing and keep commenting.
I'm not going till gum leaves
Austen Tayshus!
On the flip side, cove!
Your ass off - sounds like a Russian name - you worked it though - respect to you man
Namaste - I have to keep saying that now
Hardly anyone reads or can spell
One day I am going to spell everything wrong and see if anyone notices
50/50 hugh!
I stay at 100 - I am just like that!
Your ass off is common slang where I live. I like my writing to speak, especially within this sort of context. There's no point in being overly technical and precise with my words and it's common knowledge simply being loose promotes comradery.
The lack of views does bother me at times. I'm sure it bothers everyone else too. Especially the ones making the big bucks... I'd hate to live with the guilt they must experience.
Spelling is very important. Fixing those errors is as simple as a right click if you're using Firefox. I'm not sure how easy it is with other options, but I'm sure it should be simple enough.
I'll probably switch back over to 100% posts when the Steem value goes up. It seems to be on the rise again so that could be soon.
Joshing with you brother - but am on a whale hunt today - had enough of being maltreated by undeserving hypocrites - it is going to be fun!
Best of luck to you. I know you were just busting my balls.
Some advice for your hunt. It's good to speak your mind and be honest. Respect goes a long way as well. Find a good balance. We can't impress everyone all of the time.
Then why do people see fit to penalise me for the truth and justify their power elite games? I get a post PULLED by some vindictive %&^$t because I have unearthed their self-serving games - I might be the Ed Snowden here but my integrity will stay in tact - if I did nothing, it would not.
Bad luck to me for being the good guy.
I will start naming names soon.
This is not your fight - it is mine.
I respect that too
Man, I fight my own battles. I don't see any flags on your stuff and I'm not a fan of conspiracy theory. Good luck.
Which post of yours got pulled? Months ago I got attacked by the top dogs for using profanity in a joke. Those articles still remain censored and unfortunately for them my response articles have started to slowly circulate (which I can't do anything about). Other top dogs have had my back though, which was nice.
I still look forward to the day where I can write about how the flags were lifted, which would of course make the platform look good. Sometimes the structure here makes me feel like a nobody though. Unfortunately, I know better than to think that.
It's strange at times but it's a self correcting issue. It takes time though. Time and patience.
Mate, I know my last got pulled and I can show that - I just have to watch now because the power elite are behaving in such a manner as to be so much worse than Washington which they all vilify. I have studied this and I know the game - it is a great idea - poor system - really well rorted by the whales. 120,000 - 4,000 ; 80% - 187 - the metrics which matter
'No not now!' got me in reading. Would need a thousand words to describe why. So, I summerize: Awesome!
Keep the art flowing!
I've been thinking about going a little more art intensive with my posts. So much time goes into producing these though. I'd hate for the article to be a flop. I still think about one post that was all art, took an entire weekend to put together... all for a buck. That's painful! Low view counts don't encourage artists either. The whole point is to view.
All that being said, I will keep the art flowing! I'm glad you like this stuff and "awesome" means a lot to me.
Yep, know the frustration of input that does not match the output. Effort is not always recognized in it's true value.
Keep 'm coming, in long run things often get the value they deserve.
Have a great day!
Great post, I agree with what you wrote about manual voting and helping to support your followers. Happy holidays
I've always been one to read the fine print anyway. Plus I like to know what's going on with everyone. So many are like me now and often changing things up. Unpredictable is good for the readers, probably bad for the auto votes, but not necessarily.
Thanks for reading, commenting and happy holidays to you as well.
