How to Make a Vision Board - Happy New Year 2018

Ever since the hit book turned documentary, The Secret, Vision Boards have been all the rave. I have been a fan of vision boards for may years and started to create my own, virtually and physically, since New Year 2013. I thought I would share my yearly tradition with my fellow Steemit peeps and provide you with the steps necessary to create a Vision Board via Pinterest.

Before we getting into the tutorial let’s cover the basics about Vision Boards.

What is a Vision Board?

“A vision board is a tool used to help clarify, concentrate and maintain focus on a specific life goal. Literally, a vision board is any sort of board on which you display images that represent whatever you want to be, do or have in your life.”

Why should you create one?

“Vision boards provide us with physical pictures to focus on, which can help make a goal become a reality. Creating avision board is an exercise in thinking beyond what you believe is possible. ... But this tool allows you to open yourself up to the opportunities to make those thoughts and dreams actually happen over time.”

How does it work?

The Law of Attraction: “Simply put, the Law of Attraction is the ability to attract into our lives whatever we are focusing on. It is believed that regardless of age, nationality or religious belief, we are all susceptible to the laws which govern the Universe, including the Law of Attraction. It is the Law of Attraction which uses the power of the mind to translate whatever is in our thoughts and materialize them into reality. In basic terms, all thoughts turn into things eventually. If you focus on negative doom and gloom you will remain under that cloud. If you focus on positive thoughts and have goals that you aim to achieve you will find a way to achieve them with massive action.”

Where should you store it?

“For best feng shui, as usual, be sure to trust your feelings and experiment/play around until you reach that moment when everything clicks, so to speak, and you have the perfect vision board in the perfect feng shui location to support your dreams.”

When should you review it?

Daily, weekly, or monthly, consistency reviewing your Vision board is the key to successfully manifesting the year as you envisioned it.

Now that the basics are covered, let’s jump right into this tutorial. I will list the steps and then show the screenshots below!

1. Login to your account or signup for a new one on pinterest.com
2. Click on the red plus sign to create a new board
3. Name the board accordingly and make it a secret if you do not wish to share it publicly
4. Now you have your board created, let’s create sections. Sections are places where you can modularize your vision into various categories
5. For example, I will have a section named "Business" on my board
6. You have as many sections as you would like and here are 3 of mine
7. There is a general section for your vision board outside of the individual sections. This is where you can place general themes for the year.
8. Now let’s search for inspiration
9. You can click on am image to enlarge it and review it prior to saving the pin to your board
10. You can edit the caption and then save the pin to the general vision board or a section within your board
11. And there you have it! After a few saves, here is my general vision board for the year.

I will get more specific within each section. To not over crowd the board, or each section, I will place 18 pins in each section.
