SAD TIMES: LET'S MAKE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE
A failed Government..
The last couple of days has been filled with tragedies that could have been avoided. If it were a natural disaster, it would have been understandable, but these tragedies are end results of the actions of humans that were entrusted with the safety and well being of a whole nation.
The Nigerian Government has everything it needs to be a developed country, we are blessed with natural resources such as Oil and a fertile ground for Agriculture which is why some of our cash crops have been recorded to be the best in foreign countries. But then we have watched our fellow country men assume government office and loot our treasury instead of developing the country, we have watched them break the laws that they made, government after government and no one dares to make a change. We are in the 21st century yet we are worse than we were in the previous centuries, while the world is advancing into a Technological era, Nigeria is depreciating. As a kid, we struggled to have a steady electricity, I'm in my mid 20's and we still struggle for electricity, we experienced bad roads when i was a kid, we still do now. Infact people will begin to walk on air in some areas because their roads are not accessible.. It's devastating.
The wickedness of man..
But seriously, how can a man be this wicked? Government officials are paid heavily but yet they loot the funds that even their generations won't be able to finish. How can someone be in power and decide not to make his country a better place. We all know that good roads help to reduce the rate of accidents and yet the government officials would rather watch the citizens die in accidents than work on the roads. How can a terrorist group declare their crimes on National Tv and yet no arrests? But for real, are these Government officials being paid to sign the nation's death certificate? Even the security agents collect bribes and make way for hoodlums to destroy lives and properties.. How do they sleep at night, knowing that they contributed to the death of hundreds of people? How can one value money over the life of another? How can people be this wicked?

There are consequences for every action..
Unfortuately for Nigeria, innocent lives are bearing the consequences of the actions of the government. If the governmet worked on the roads, deaths would have decreased.. If they made laws/implemented laws against transporting petroleum products, accidents would been avoided. If they had taken security measures against the terrorists in the North, crisis would have been decreased. If they had reduced the rate of imported goods, there would have been employments and reduced crime. But no, they won't do that because it's the same politicians that are importing these goods so it will be bad business for them. The when you dared to be successful on your own, you will be labelled a fraudster, get arrested and be extorted by the police that is supposed to protect you. What a shame!
This is not to incite hate against the Government
No, not at all.. I can type and curse the government for all day but nothing will change. But instead this is to open our eyes to how our actions and decisions can make or mar us, directly on indirectly.. Your place of power could be your community, your family or even on steemit as a whale or dolphine, you might even have political aspirations, as long you are in a positing where people are dependent on you, try and be human.. Don't get carried away by greed, consider the people under you, consider the people not as fortunate as you are.. The government structure will always be there, power will keep changing hands and someday it might get to you, what will you do with it? It might not be political, it might be financial, or anything at all, power is power and it can be intoxicating.. The current state of Nigeria could have been avoided if things were done the right way from the beginning. This is to urge us to consider our actions before we take them, years from now, will you be proud of yourself? Lets join hands and make the world a better place..
My heart goes out to the victims of the fire explosion and the crisis in the Plateau State, may they find comfort..

The government is corrupt and has failed us a thousand and one times but we can stop the criticism and help out with our little actions and prayers just like you said even here on steemit.I believe things like this no matter how little can make a difference.God bless Nigeria

The government has failed us. Such a pity that the masses can barely do a thing about that... The herdsmen killing citizens and go scot free, while the only time 5 villagers retaliated, they were all hung to death by this same government that couldn't apprehend the herdsmen. What a country... If I see who wan swap nationality, am ready. I don tire
So sad...
What is the hope for our dear country, what becomes the fate of the affected family members....
