The Mandela Effect
Have you ever believed something to be so real, when in fact, it turned out to be wrong?
This form of disremembering first emerged in 2010, when countless people falsely remembered Nelson Mandela's death. It was widely believed that he had died in prison during the 1980s. In reality, Mandela was freed from prison in 1990 and died in 2013.
Here are some more examples of the effect.
Play along with me. Is it A or B?

• The correct answer is A. The word KitKat actually has no hyphen.

• The correct answer is A. It is 'froot', not 'fruit'.

• The correct answer is B. Many people, even myself, believed that the word was 'Berenstein'. I was wrong all along.

• The correct answer is A. The Monopoly man does not wear a monocle, although it seems as if he should.

• The correct answer is B. The black is only on the tip of Pikachu's ears, not the tail.

• The correct answer is A. The right word is 'Looney Tunes', although people falsely remember it as 'Toons'.

• The correct answer is B. People usually remember an extra 'e' in the word, but it is not there.

• The correct answer is B. The title is actually 'Sex and the City'.

• The correct answer is B. A lot of people remember the logo without a hyphen on the top.
