Don’t teach children how to recycle, teach them not to waste

Our planet is dirty and it’s all our fault. We did it. Recycling is not enough and some people don’t even do that.

My friend told me recently that her kids were on excursion in garbage company and they were thrilled. It was fascinating for them. But not for me. I asked her if they showed her children how to just recycle garbage or they told them also how not to produce garbage.

It's not enough to teach children how to separate garbage. Because first of all, not teachers should learn children how to recycle but parents should do that since their children start to think. And secondly, we should teach children at first place not to waste and no how to recycle. We should teach them not to buy water in plastic bottles because it is expensive, water from tap is also drinking and it is zero waste. We should teach them how to use reusable bags and not to buy plastic bags that hurt our planet and we should teach them how to buy things in paper or glass pack and not in plastics.

Those things mentioned are quite easy to practice. And it’s not good just for planet but also for us. We can spare some money, have better health and also feeling.

And if you think that it is hard to produce less garbage, trust me, there are zero waste people who don’t produce garbage at all or just minimum. They are ordinary people like everybody, they just decided to say NO to garbage.

So dear parents and dear everybody, do not teach children how to recycle, teach them not to waste.
