Know who you are!
When you don't know your true identity, you will live by comparison. You will be tempted to look at others more than you focus on the things that really matter to your life.
Instead of enjoying other's success, you will be frustrated with bitterness in your heart. Instead of celebrating the achievements of your friends, you will spread gossips about their weaknesses and poison around you.
You were not created for doing this. To be able to enjoy other's success, rather than working hard on your character, you have to know who you are.
You see the people according to with the perception you have of yourself. If you know that you are valuable, you will see the value in others. If you see yourself as a failure, you will search for other's mistakes.
The view you have about yourself will influence the way you see others.
It's time to invest in knowing who you are. Make a list of your gifts, talents, and achievements. Ask yourself what do you like about yourself, about life, and what do you like to do. Ask your friends what talents and qualities they see in you, and write them down on your list. After that see yourself through these qualities.
More important than seeing yourself according to your talents, is the way God sees you. That is your true identity. If you start reading the New Testament of the Bible,.you will discover that God loves you more than you could ever imagine. He created you to be an overcomer. He made you in His own image and gave you enormous value. You are much more precious than all the money on the earth than all bitcoins and all the cryptocurrencies put together. Your value can not be compared with anything on this earth.
I know that many people sell themselves very cheap. You know the saying: "everyone has a price". But your true identity is neither the price people tag on you, nor the value you think you have. Your identity is the value God gave you, and this is priceless.
Do not live by comparison anymore. You were created to change the world around you. You are important. Your friends need your talents. They need your gifts. You are precious. Know your identity and live according to it.
This is a well-thought out, well-researched and detailed discourse on knowing who you truly are. As the Bible says, "As a man thinks, so is he."
I like the your strategy for knowing who you are - writing down the list of your talents, gifts and achievements. This will definitely give you an in-road into who you truly are.
One other thing you said that I like is 'The view you have about yourself will influence the way you see others.' This is true because in life what is in you is what you see in others.
Finally, I want to add the Socratic injunction to all human beings, that for you to live a good and happy life I'll advice you to follow. The injunction is 'Man, Know Thyself.'
