Improve yourself!

Recently I've heard a story about a naughty boy who did all kind of things and his mother got very upset. Getting exceedingly annoyed his mother told him: "Don't jump anymore! Sit down and be silent!" The boy sat down, and after few moments started laughing very loud. "Now, what?" asked his mother. The boy answered: "You can make me sit down, but I'm still jumping on the inside."

Sometimes you can make people do what you want them to do, but you can never change their minds without them wanting this. Only they can change their mind. If they are aware of the importance of developing their personality, it will be easy to help them. If they think that they know everything, you can't do a big deal.

I have learned in the past years that it's better to not be quick in advising others. Some people don't need your opinion. Even if you are right, they are too proud to consider what you tell them. They will do whatever they like regardless what you advise them, so it's pointless saying anything.

Those who need your opinion will ask you for, at the right time.

On the other hand, it's important what we allow others to speak into our lives. We should look first at their character and the experience in the domain they are saying something about. For example, if I want to know something about the things that are inside the engine of my car, I won't ask a carpenter about it, I would ask a mechanic. If I want to know where to invest some money, I won't ask a homeless person; I would ask a successful businessman.

It's important to help those who need your help, but it's compulsory to develop yourself. Give good advice to those who need it and receive advice from those who can help you. Be open to new things and don't stop growing.
