Turtle Park: A Legend Restored
Turtle Park is awesome. It is known.
Why? I don't really know. It has some okay slides, some cool climbing attractions and a decent field... but nothing really special. Except that turtle.
The turtle, big enough to hold a decent sized family, had fallen into a state of disrepair. I remember it from my youth... a tiny feature at an out of the way park, but it was always magical to me. When I first took my young family there - 25 some years after I first went - my amphibious friend was dingy, faded and not so magical.
However, upon our second visit, we found our turtle repainted, shiny, resplendent and ready to delight children of all ages for another generation.
Whoever found the time and talent to paint this landmark, I thank you. You've restored a part of my childhood.
Back to the past. Especially childhood. Makes us happy. I don't know why.
I think because we became aware that we were a little bit foolish in childhood.
