X10 CORONAL MASS EJECTION COMING YOUR WAY

The news on this may be lost in the multitude of major hurricanes we are facing. I believe katina has turned into a hurricane or close to it the gulf. Irma approaches and Jose lies in wait.

Ad all this is happening, an unprecedented X10 CME has happened and is to reach earth within a few hours. I have no idea if such an event interacts with the storms in any which way but in it self the coronal mass ejection is a major event .

Despite efforts to research this there is limited information as to what to do.
I could not find much information on radiation from the ultraviolet rays and protection from sunscreen but this seems to be more of an issue of electrons and protons frying the grids and communication systems including electronics in the home.

I have only a few suggestions. I'm not even sure of these are helpful but here we go.

1. Turn off your electronics as much as possible. Power surges are a huge problem. I would even suggest disconnecting your TV and computers from the outlets if you're not using them.
2. UPS , i.e, uninterrupted power supply systems hooked to you electronics may be helpful. I'm not sure if they will be overwhelmed by this enormous coronal mass ejection.
3. If possible place your small electronics in a faraday cage. You can use your microwave as a faraday cage. Check the Internet for the times of this CME in your area. Check now because it is almost upon us.
4. Prepare for outages.
