Small Moments are more important than Big ones

Dear Steemians,

Let us look at the following point. Asking ourselves the following questions. I don’t think that we look at this point way too often, or maybe not at all, and we don’t take it serious enough. Though, we should:

Who am I in the small moments?

Who am I in the small things of everyday life? In washing dishes? Cutting vegetables? Peeling fruit? Getting groceries? Drawing? The commute to work? Writing that next line of code? Taking showers? Eating? Preparing drinks? Making or taking a phone call?

Big things drown the small

We often only tend to look at the big things, the big picture when we look at who we are. When we look at self-change. When we look at life. When it comes to planning. How we care about it. It’s always in the big. Big, big, big. Not so much really about the small moments. The small things.

My question is: Aren’t the big things we live towards made up of small moments? Small everyday moments that build up, over time, accumulating towards the creation of what we label as a ‘big moment’ or ‘big step’ in our lives? Sure they are. The big times can’t happen without the small everyday moments. The moments of every day where we make a choice of who we are and what action and course we take in our life towards creating what we set ourselves up to create.

Creating the big begins with the small

You want to be a great artist? You want to be a great programmer? You want to be a great cook? Everything is created in the small moments. Cherish the process of getting to be a great artist, programmer, cook, designer, etc. Everyday, or every time you do a drawing, you design something, you prepare a meal, you write that next line of code, you read to expand your knowledge in a subject field - those are all the small moments where you build yourself, where you build your skills. Accumulated over time they form the ‘end result’ of your creation, whatever that may be: A great artist. A great programmer. A great cook. Being able to draw some specific object. Being able to draw in a specific style. Being able to cook a 3 course meal like a chef. Being able to program in that specific technology and language. Learning that first, second or third foreign language. Everything. Is. Created. In. The. Small. Moments.

Conclusion

So, let’s cherish the small moments of everyday life. It is in the small moments where we make a decision of who we are and what we live - the action we are performing - that defines our creation in the long-term. The end result is shaped everyday in the small moments of decisions and actions. The small everyday moments of what we live. One by one. Want to influence the big picture, the big plan? Influence your everyday small moments where you make a decision of who you are, how and what you live. This is how you influence the big picture. The big plan. The grand design of yourself and your life, if you want to call it that. Just look at the universe. Even the grand universe is made up of smaller things, which are made of smaller things. The big contains the small. The small makes the big.

Thank you for reading, and
Remember to cherish the small moments of everyday life, for
They are indeed the counting milestones of self-creation.

indeed @nebi. We DO need to cherish those small moments... We get so caught up in the day-to-day rush that we forget to appreciate Every moment.
And I really like this: "Remember to cherish the small moments of everyday life, for
They are indeed the counting milestones of self-creation."
Steem on buddy.
