How to stop overthinking?

We all love to think or imagine. We find something that we long for or the moments associated with it a relief in our own mind. More or less everyone has a fantasy kingdom that runs at its own pace. But it is better to keep everything within the limits. Care must be taken that excessive thinking or fantasy does not adversely affect reality. You can follow the steps below:

**Keep your mind busy. It can be a great way to keep your mind busy, especially when you're bored thinking or imagining. When you realize that your brain is trying to create fake imagination, immediately control yourself. You can list the tasks at hand in writing. The list can be continued when the mind wants to wander.

**Meditation is the ultimate exercise to control your mind. Although it will seem difficult at first. But gradually you can take control of your mind. Along with meditation, you can do yoga, deep breathing exercises.

**Set yourself in the present. You can resist the tendency to daydream by immersing yourself in your surroundings. Train yourself to use grounding techniques. For example: name and identify some objects in the room you are in or focus on some real activity you can do there. You can also focus on your breathing and breathing mechanics. These steps can assist in bringing you back to the present. You can start exercising outside of work if you sense that you are slipping back into fantasy.

**You can learn to accept reality. Overthinking often occurs when the mind is upset or the reality doesn't feel good. But if you learn to accept reality, it can go away.
