How Hard is it To Make a Difference?steemCreated with Sketch.

in #life7 years ago

Over the years, I’ve realized how important people are to each other. Family, friends, even strangers are vital to our well-being and sometimes survival. But how often do we forget about others and focus only on ourselves?

In our busy, self-important lives it’s easy to forget we are not the only person on the planet with feelings and struggles. We work, we have family to take care of, health matters, stress, bills to pay and sometimes we struggle just to keep up on the hamster wheel called Life.

But when life gets to feeling too much like a game you can’t put on pause we especially need people.

How can we make a difference everyday?

It may be something as simple as a friendly smile.

Most of these things don't cost a dime but they can mean a lot.

3 More Tips to Make a Difference in the World

Look for opportunity

We don’t have to be superman and superwoman, trying to save the world to make a difference. All it takes is to look for opportunity wherever we go. Daily, we encounter many opportunities to make someone else’s day or life better.

Eliminate distractions

We will never notice the opportunities around us if we are too busy or preoccupied with our cellphone. When we are in public, we should be present as much as possible. Not only is this a safety precaution, it’s important if we want to seize opportunities to show others consideration and kindness.

Don't be too proud

Some people are luckier than others. Let's face it - life is not fair. Some people have more than others. When we come from the "right side of the tracks" oftentimes it's hard to relate to people who are down on their luck or seem different than us. Having a humble heart can mean the difference between sparing some change to a homeless person or just driving on past them. We all bleed and have experienced pain and suffering. No matter how much money we have in the bank, we can still lose it all. And you know what they say, what goes around comes around.

Make someones day or just make it better...

What else are we here for, anyway?
