At the Baikonur cosmodrome, the launch of the Soyuz-2.1a rocket with the Progress-MS-08 cargo vehicle was canceled, Roskosmos reports.

Five minutes before the launch, Roskosmos reported its readiness, but the rocket did not start.

"At the start, there was a command to automatically turn off the engines, the reasons are being clarified. The launch was postponed to the reserve date - February 13, "the Roskosmos said.

It was planned that for the first time in history a cargo ship would reach the International Space Station under a new scheme: in less than three and a half hours. Traditional is a two-day scheme, when from start to docking takes about 50 hours.

For the first time to approach the ISS in three and a half hours, the previous space vehicle Progress MS-07 was also due. But on October 12, the launch was also canceled a few seconds before the start because of the automatic operation. The rocket was launched on October 14, and the ship as usual reached the ISS for two days.
