Sooner than later, the discipline will beat the intelligence. Let the japaneses tell you more about.

in #life8 years ago

Have you realized that Japan has too many successful companies all around the world?

They have many of them profiting all the time.

People sometimes think that the Japaneses are kinds of super-humans beings who could reach higher levels of intelligence than the rest of the world.

They already know how a day in the morning looks after a nuclear bomb.

They have risen up trough the years, though.

Today we know Japan as a very developed country, despite being taken down by the bombs at world war two.

They are persistent, disciplined and have an incredible willpower which lead them to make all those wonderful things they do.

But, their secret isn't really their "superior" intelligence, they have a more valuable secret.

That secret is... The discipline.

Throughout my life, I've known a lot of talented people who were very good at doing something.

Maybe sports, maybe mathematics, maybe at writing or anything else.

For some reason, I haven't heard that almost anyone of them have already been successful at the things they were supposed to be good.

You might be wondering what happened to them.

It's a very easy answer, the had the talent but they weren't disciplined enough to reach their entire power.

At sports I have been always amazed by the US olympic's team at every category.

It could be swimming, running, boxing, track and field or anything else. The fact is that US always have someone on the first three places at podium.

Does it mean that US are the superior race at sports? I don't think they are necessarily the most talented ones but the most disciplined.

They don't stop practicing until they have the most perfect tecnique. Michael Phelps is a great example of this, what a character he is.

Their mentality is always about winning, and they know the full practice is needed so that they can win.

And of course, that's something to admire, they are a pretty good example to imitate.

Some people are used to say that so as to be successful, you need to born with some "super power" or a special ability.

People see the most outstanding men in the world (of each kind of category) and they only see the final result.

I mean, they see the superficial part of the whole game, but they don't see all the hours those men spent in order to get better every day at anything they were doing.

Let's give a clear example of what i'm saying.

Everybody knows who Freddy Mercury was. One of the best singers of all time, a very talented one.

People had only seen Freddy as the singer from "queen", but they dind't noticed the thousands of hours which Freddy spent practicing to be the best of all time (For most of the people).

Freddy Mercury spent the most part of his life at the studios perfecting his beautiful voice, even though he knew that he was too good already, he remain disciplined at practicing.

But who could have been Freddy Mercury without thousands of hours rehearsing with the band? I don't know for sure, but he couldn't have been as good as he was.

So, one of the things that you should take about Freddy is his discipline in order to be who he was, the greatest.

I'm pretty sure you have many projects, goals or talents on your mind, but the thing is that you need to be disciplined and decided enough to pay the price in order to make all those things you want to happen for once.

Be more japanese, be more like Freddy, be more like US olympic's team, be more disciplined. After all, discipline will beat the intelligence.
