Why we must learn to stop constantly justifying ourselves?steemCreated with Sketch.

We sometimes overjustify our actions. The same justifications we use for not doing something are also used for not acting. These explanations of our motives or justifications are unnecessary.

We usually justify or excuse ourselves to present a positive image. We seek acceptance from others without realising it, showing our lack of confidence.

Doubt, confusion about what they think, and lack of confidence make us forget that we have the right to make our own judgements, whether they like others or not and whether we invent or change them.

To cease explaining our actions or apologising for our inactions, we must first make the decision deep within and analyse what motivates us, so we feel confident in our choice even if we make mistakes.

We must accept responsibility for our actions and learn from our mistakes. We must feel authentic by being yourself despite others. We esteem ourselves by being ourselves and accepting our thoughts and choices.

Before communicating a choice, we must review our rationale. This choice does not need to be justified, so we must proclaim it:

straightforward and concise

be direct in your explanation.

explain confidently and firmly.

We should not hesitate or give uncertain arguments when explaining our decision.

Does everyone enjoy our daily activities? Probably not. We live to develop and attain our goals, not to justify ourselves to others. Others will try to make you explain your actions and decisions. However, walking with someone is different from walking in their shoes. We must no longer hesitate to:

Putting yourself first is not selfish since selfishness would mean ignoring others. We often neglect our priorities because we're preoccupied with others'. Remember to invest more on yourself than others. Please prioritise our day.

Show our feelings. No rational justification exists to feel shame or guilt about how we feel in a given moment or scenario. Expressing your feelings shows humanity and lets you communicate without worrying about others. It reveals one's humanity. People who find us sensitive, awkward, emotional, or unpleasant should apologise.

Accept quirks. Strangeness is common. Everyone is odd. It signifies our humanity and identity. People like unusual things, not what the masses want. Celebrating variety is better than being embarrassed by it.

Stop taking things personally. Often, others act without our consent. We can choose to take things personally. What if we stopped assuming a word or gesture was designed to hurt us? If we take things personally, we'll always be insulted.

Decide to forgive. Forgiveness is our choice, even when things are evil. People who feel owed anything resent, whereas those who stand up and move forward forgive. You must also forgive yourself. Nobody agrees of everything they've done, yet we wouldn't be ourselves without those mistakes.
