Even though we are all aware of how essential practising mindfulness is to our general pleasure and sense of well-being, the majority of us don't do it nearly often enough. In point of fact, the vast majority of us consider this to be a New Year's resolution that we are doomed to break.

However, practising mindfulness does not need to be challenging. It is actually not that difficult to put into practise in your day-to-day existence. The following are some easy suggestions that can assist you in making your life more attentive.

Your first order of business is to find a place to sit down where you can be at ease. You need to be able to relax, but you also need to be able to concentrate at the same time. Find a place where you can be by yourself and unbothered if at all possible.

Something that can serve as a focal point is another item that you will need to bring along with you. Either a notebook or a pen is required for me to fulfil this requirement. You are free to pick whichever option best suits your needs. However, I think it would be best to begin with something tangible. This way, you'll be able to notice where your mind wanders, and you'll be able to bring it back on track more easily.

Before you get started, you should give yourself some time to relax and take several deep breaths. Put an end to any activities that could be considered a distraction, and give yourself a few moments to just sit in peace.

Once you've finished gathering your thoughts, close your eyes. Take a few slow, deep breaths and picture yourself in the middle of a wooded area. You are currently situated next to a creek that is located in the neighbourhood. Experience the refreshing sensation of the water on your skin as well as the wind as it blows through the trees.

When you start to feel yourself slowing down, pay attention to the thoughts that come into your head. How are you feeling right now? What exactly are you ruminating on right now? Are you concentrating on the here and now, or do you have your mind set on the past or the future?

When you are prepared, give yourself one last deep breath, and slowly open your eyes. Because you have slowed down, you are now in a position to start paying attention to your surroundings. Take a look around your surroundings and make note of everything you observe.

After giving yourself a few seconds to refocus, it's time to start paying attention to the world around you. What exactly is going on at this very moment? What does it seem like to you as you look out at the world right now?

You must not permit yourself to revert to your previous ways. Maintain a daily practise of awareness in your life. If you are able to maintain your consistency over a period of time, you will notice that it becomes easier to do.
