Nowhere near as good as knowing that you tried your best and that you still failed. That failure leaves you with the choice of working harder or not trying at all. If you do try then you are bound to succeed in whatever you choose. The second feeling is relief.


If you think back over your history you will see that the number one reason for failure was not feeling bad but knowing that you could have done something about it. You may not feel bad because you know that you could have made things work. You may also realise that you just didn't try hard enough. There are a range of emotions that accompany any experience. If you can stay calm and cool under pressure then you are likely to do well in whatever it is that you are trying to achieve.

To do your best and not to feel bad, you need to do your homework. This does not mean that you should go and see a psychotherapist but rather that you should spend some time reflecting on your past experiences. You need to identify what made you fail or get rejected and then take steps to prevent these events happening again. Most people have been hurt before but they don't allow it to define them.
