Beautiful Girl

Obedient, quiet and loyal, that's our girl. She loves a walk and a game of catch the ball twice a day. We can leave her in the backyard or the lawn to do her 'business' or just enjoy the brisk air and she never strays although there is no fence. When she's ready to come into the house, she will just let out a single bark.

The only time she ran away was the night on Memorial Day when everyone was outside watching fireworks. There were some loud explosions that must have frightened her. Suddenly she was missing and we drove around frantically looking and calling for her. Thank God, one of us found the poor girl; in her fear she had scrambled up the little hill behind the house and landed herself in the next neighbourhood.

A week before Christmas Day last year, I spent the evening showing the kiddo how to make cookies for fun. After baking, I suggested that we hang the cookies on one of the potted plants in the kitchen. Just like how we hang ornaments on the Christmas tree.

While watering plants the following day, I realised the cookies were missing. The kiddo insisted that he did not remove or eat them and that the dog must be the thief. I was so worried that she has swallowed the metal hooks with the cookies and intended to bring her to the vet for a checkup. Yet, she looked all innocent and healthy. Eventually, we found a neat stack of hooks in the laundry room. Sneaky dog!

The kiddo pointed his little finger and scolded the girl for being naughty. He also chastised her in writing and posted it on the laundry room door!
