Life is a journey, not a destination!
Me and two friends decided to load our mountain bikes to the car and drive from Skopje to Kochani for a one day biking trip from Kochani to Ponikva.
We parked at a city center parking lot unloaded the bikes and started pedaling uphill right away!
It was mostly asphalt all the way to the top, passing some local weekender houses and a forest in the upper part of the road.
Reached the top in about 3-4 hours and had a nice lunch with beer in one of the restaurants available.
The setting was really nice and idyllic and we meet some other bikers there.
After a quick rest on the green grass in the front yard of Konak, our lunch place, we headed down for an off-road downhill ride back to Kochani.
Fortunately my friend Bojan had his camera with him so he shot this beautiful photos which you can now see and enjoy!
Ponikva is located 20 km north of Kochani, in the hips of the Osogovo Mountains in Macedonia, 1580m above sea level, covered with dense beech forest and various grassy vegetation. Due to the favorable climate, Ponikva is an extraordinary place for summer and winter tourism.
