Diary: Dance - Delayed Trip - Movie Review
My last post was different in writing style and plot. I gave you an insight into a day of mine, just like as if I was sharing a diary entry with you. I am surprised, in a good way, by all the positive feedback from the community. So many of you seem to be genuinely interested in who I am and what I'm up to and I appreciate that more than you know.
So I decided to write page 2 and 3 aka. about yesterday and today.
DANCE
As I mentioned in the last post, I went to dance class to practice for a show that night. The show is called "Happening" and basically is an annual event of the fitness and dance center On Stage, where they showcase the different classes you can take and @sirwinchester has been teaching at for about 10 years. My dance buddy @soldier and I joined his class 7 years ago and have been taking his classes ever since. For me dance is an important part of my life, as it forces me outside my 24/7 work-life, and gives me a break, physically, mentally, as well as spiritually, which I love.
Usually choreographers prepare several weeks, sometimes months to perform. For us that's never been the case. Everything gets decided spontaneously and rather last minute. We decided to perform a week before and just the day before finished the formation. The last two times we didn't partake in the show, because we were traveling.
As you might know already, @sirwinchester and I work together, right now on a new project, that will be announced soon and will require us at least for some time to be at a certain places and take a break from the weekly classes in Hamburg Germany and so we decided to perform, "one last time". We had a lot of fun..

TRAVEL - DELAYED
That night I received a message that important dates regarding our project got postponed. Important dates that required us to be in Hamburg. Now that the dates got pushed back, my friends decided that same night to take advantage of a couple of days that allow for location independency and book flights for a spontaneous trip.
I was already home, sleeping when they decided to book last-minute for today. I woke up and at 11 AM received the message "get ready, WORKATION for a couple of days, airport at 6pm". Exactly what I needed! I am a pretty weather-dependent person. My mood is instantly better when the sun is out and the rainy autumn-like weather we currently have in Hamburg, despite it being almost July, I can feel drains my energy and blocks my creativity.
(Hamburg yesterday and all year around)
So I packed my bag, rushed to the airport, and made it just on time. We were excited, until... the sir behind the ticket counter of AIR BERLIN tells us that our tickets got canceled, because the airline overbooked. We call the hotline, explain to them that we used instant pay to book the tickets, have a printed and digital confirmation with us, but nothing helps. The machine is full and despite our efforts to claim our seats that we booked, we could not get on on the plane (the last plane for the day) and we told to wait until midnight for a refund and then book again..
Great! All the stress with last minute packing for nothing.. we were frustrated and I was really angry with the air Berlin hotline. So our flight took off without us...
We had to make something out of it, turn the situation around and enjoy the evening. So we went straight to the movies, and at the movies decided to watch Transformers...
MOVIE REVIEW
I enjoyed the 3D-effects of the movie, the animation and film techniques. The plot I felt was more aimed at a younger audience and it could have been shorter. Overall it was alright, but I have to keep it honest with you and tell you that it's nothing compared to the first one and I personally don't think it's a "must watch"...
and now I'm writing a blogpost about this crazy day. We booked another flight, in the morning and hopefully (wish us luck) this time everything will go smoothly.
I am going to get some rest now before our second try.. where I'm going for a few days and what I'm up to, you will find out soon...
When things like this happens that are completely out of your control, like the airline that canceled our flights, what do you do and how do you view the situation? I've gotten a lot better at controlling my temper in such situations, accept it and think productively..
LESSON OF THE DAY
Is there a reason why small things like this happen, misfortunes, or even bigger ones.. are they based coincidence or are meant to happen? What do you think..
Much love,
Mrs.Steemit
Life can be tough, frustrating, and sometimes painful! But through my life experiences I have learned that for me the best motto is "if no one died, it is still a good day." Here's hoping you finally enjoyed your spontaneous trip!
Good Job
You put a lot of effort into this!
As for unfortunate events, or any event for that matter; who knows? This universe is so intricate, it could go either way. We could be living in a designed universe where it is according to plan, or an elaborate sequence of sporadic events with no guidance. This mysterious thing we find ourselves in blows my mind on a daily basis! haha In short, I don't think anyone could possibly have the answers. We are all blindly in this together.
The plane being delayed sucks "a big one". Sorry for the wild answer. Lol
It was cool seeing another day in the life of @mrs.steemit.
Great show! I loved the quote at the end about problems and worrying. You've echoed thoughts I've had for a long time, my own definition of a problem:
If it's something I can fix then it's a problem, if it's something I can't fix then it's not a problem but a fact of life I should embrace.
:)
I only liked the 1st transformer, everything after that was crap, hoping for them to make a cybertron movie with no humans and just robots fighting
Looks like a lot of fun.
Wow, it sounds like you had quite the adventure over the past two days! That dance show looked amazing and seemed like yall had a lot of fun. I'm glad you got to fit in "one last show" before starting your new project. I'm excited to see what it is. And thanks for the review on Transformers. I still haven't seen it because it seems like they went downhill after the first couple of movies. And sorry to hear about your flight, I HATE when that happens. I would say don't let it get you down, people always go through that at one time or another. At least they're giving you a refund and you made the best out of it by going to the movies. As far as things happening for a reason, I believe they do. I believe we're given tests in life, and depending on how we react, it can either help us and make us stronger, or break us down. My motto is "fall down seven times, get up eight." No matter how many times you're knocked down in life, you have to get up, and become that much stronger. As long as you learn from the experience and twist it into a positive, you never lose :)
Awesome !!
you and soldier are fantastic dancer.
thank you for the posting.
Well, sometimes I get mad when things don't work out as planned but I'm learning that "plans" seem to be just estimations or predictions of what you think might possibly happen. Especially in business as you very well know, nothing goes according to plan all the time. Ever play sports? Anything can happen. It's all about rolling with the punches as they say and staying adaptable when things go awry. Who knows...maybe something bad happened & y'all were saved! Stay positive & maybe it just wasn't meant to be. You'll get your "WORKATION" soon!
Yes, Ladies, you are great dancer.
Nice as usual!... Cheers!
