International Hand Signal to Indicate Domestic Violence

Today I learned there is an international hand signal to indicate domestic violence, to assist those that need help.

It only works if both victims and responsible citizens know about it. It is simple. Put your palm up, tucking your thumb in, and close your fingers.

The gesture, was developed to be silently displayed during video calls, to alert family, friends or colleagues that an individual needs help. It can also be displayed in public, such as at restaurant or store, to staff and other patrons.

Something I will be watching for. As a community, we must all be looking out for each other.
