1. MANYA SURVE:

Enraged, he decided to form his own gang. Manya Surve’s death in 1982 during an encounter with the Maharashtra police became known as the city’s first recorded encounter killing.

   Chotta Rajan (Junior Rajan) is the boss of a major crime syndicate based in India. He was a former key aide and lieutenant ofDawood Ibrahim. Chhota Rajan was arrested in Bali by Indonesian police on 25 October 2015.[2]He was extradited to India on 6 November after 27 years on the run and is currently awaiting trial in CBI custody.

He is currently on the wanted list of Interpol for cheating, criminal conspiracy and running an organised crime syndicate. He was number three on the The World’s 10 Most Wanted. Ibrahim is accused of heading an illegal empire in India, against India and Indians. After the 1993 Bombay bombings, which Ibrahim allegedly organised and financed, he became India’s most wanted man.

4. ABU SALEM

   Abu Salem also known as Aqil Ahmed Azmi, Captain and Abu Samaan, among others; is a gangster originally from Azamgarh district in Uttar Pradesh state of India. He tried his hand on different labour works before joining organized criminal activities in Mumbai under Dawood gang. He was later arrested in 2002 in Portugal and extradited to India. He was tried and convicted in some cases and was awarded life imprisonment in 2015.

5. TIGER MEMON

   Mastan Haider Mirza, popularly known as Haji Mastan, Bawa /Sultan Mirza (1 March 1926 – 9 May 1994) was an Indian mobsterand filmmaker. Born in 1926 in Pannaikulam, near Ramanathapuram, Tamilnadu, Haji Mastan originally known as Mastan Haider Mirza at the age of 8 migrated with his father in Mumbai. The father son duo ran a small cycle repairing shop in Crawford market which wasn’t enough to feed the family. 10 years later in the year 1944, Bawa joined Bombay docks as a porter and this changed his life forever. He worked in association with Karim Lala and by 1960s he became a rich man. He even started financing his money in Bollywood and became a film producer. Amitabh Bachchan whose character in Deewar was influenced by Mastan met him personally. Haji Mastan was not a dreaded don because never in his life he had killed anyone or shot a bullet on another. But he was a mobster and was a big time smuggler who reigned for 20 years (1955 to 1975) without any dispute from anybody

Crime analysts have identified Shakeel as Ibrahim’s likely successor upon his rumored retirement.In September 2000, Shakeel admitted to having planned an attack on Chhota Rajan. In 2001, he accepted his involvement in financing Hindi films in an interview to India Todaymagazine.
He has openly pledged to assassinate Chhota Rajan, another leading figure in Ibrahim’s network who lived in Indonesia until his arrest and extradition to India in November 2015

Karim Lala and his fellow Mafia leaders were based in Mumbai. They were involved in Smuggling Jewellery, Running Gambling and Liquor Dens, Extortion Rackets and selling Hashish. Karim Lala was an ethnic Pashtun, he died on February 19, 2002, at the age of 90.
