Finding Inner Peace & Tranquility

The earliest mention of cannabis has been found in the Hindu sacred text known as the Vedas. There is a possibility that these writings may have been written and compiled as early as 2000 to 1400 B.C. According to The Vedas, cannabis was one of five sacred plants and a guardian angel lived in its leaves. The god Shiva is very closely associated with cannabis. The Maha Shivaratri is a major festival in Katmandu & marks a remembrance of "overcoming darkness and ignorance" in life and the world. It is observed by remembering Shiva and chanting prayers, fasting, doing Yoga, and meditating on ethics and virtues such as self-restraint, honesty, non-injury to others, forgiveness... and they smoke tons of cannabis during this religious festival and especially at night to keep Shiva company.

I felt the need to put that last sentence out there because I just don't want someone to look at the video and disregard what these people are doing.

A lot of wisdom are in the words if you choose to listen. Of note as well is how cannabis is deeply rooted in many religions throughout our world's history. Remember it only became illegal in the U.S.A. in the 1930's. Here's a helpful link that may peek your interest.

Is this karma for fighting against marijuana for 30 years...or karma for being a rich old white douchebag for 30 years?

Its old-mans retardation and lack of scientific thinking.

I always feel there's a religious connection in weed smoking. Now I know.

It's good to know that people have been smoken' weed forever. Makes it more natural than it already is. Even chewing on coca leaves by the indigenous in the Andes region, I dig that. I'm down with the herba of all types!

How you been @mithrilweed. Cancun, still treating you nice? Or sould I ask if @donnaincancun is treating you nice.

I've been finding some time to steemit this afternoon and last night after pusblishing my Playa del Carmen Travel report. I gave it good ratings. Seriously that part of Mexico really has a lot to offer.

You've picked a great place to live. I'll be around.

@world-travel-pro

I did originally look at this post cuz of the delicious lady picture...but it turned out to be a good read. Love the pic of the nuns smokin it down. It's a shame that God went and "changed his mind" about marijuana after the 1930's. He does work in mysterious ways though. Getting high will be the closest thing I ever have to a religion experience...thank God. Pun intended.

If you look at my other posts I do use click bait but my posts are generally full of knowledge or just bad ass. Thanks for following your base emotions :-)
