'Breakfast like a King' vs 'Breakfast: a dangerous meal'

How many times have you heard that ‘breakfast is the most important meal of the day’? Well, you better be prepared to be disappointed, because everything you think you know is going down the drain... Keep reading if you want to learn everything you need to know (and that you probably didn't know) regarding breakfast. Are you ready?

1-People with type 2 diabetes do not benefit from having breakfast, for instance. Quite the opposite, their glucose levels are abnormally high after eating breakfast.

It’s easier for people with type 2 diabetes to have a snack at 11am or even wait and have an early lunch at 1pm. Everyone should get to know themselves well in order to notice these things and adapt what once was ‘a vital meal’ to our bare necessities.

2-TV advertisements tell us that breakfast is good for us and good for our health. Did you know the traditional pastries, muffins, toasts or cereals that we see on those ads are not healthy?

Well, you don’t know the typical ‘breakfast food’ is actually bad for you because you’ve been told it is healthy. Why? Who would take part in lying to the public like that? The answer is simple: food manufacturers, food companies… They will definitely make some money thanks to your gullibility. So don’t let them.

Start changing your nutritional habits and introduce other types of food that are truly healthy. For example, you can have avocado, among other fruits, turkey or white cheese. These are unusual but they will help you be healthy. For instance, avocado is a fruit and a superfood, as I stated in my previous article.

3-Sugar is not your best friend when having breakfast. In fact, sugar calories are not truly nutritious because they don’t feed your appetite or, in other words, sugar makes you want to keep eating.

Are you a chocolate lover? Do you enjoy chocolate cake as much as the next guy or girl? Well, if one of your priorities in life is to be healthy and don’t gain weight, you should know that having sugar, pastries, cakes, among other desserts, for breakfast is not the best idea.

Don’t indulge yourself because you think you will use all that ‘energy’ and burn those calories, because it is simply not true. Eat that bar of chocolate before or after having practised sports instead. However, if you are not a sportive person, you can always go for a walk or avoid using any means of transport. Then you will earn the right to have a little bit of chocolate beforehand or even afterwards.

I hope this article helps you become aware of these heart-breaking truths. I know for a fact you will find the strength to make changes in your life. Habits are just habits… Don’t choose the easy way and start putting some thought into the food you eat for breakfast.
