Imagine You Come Across A Magic Notebook That Whatever You Write In It Becomes True. What Is The First Thing You Would Write?
The Impossible Dream
That I have complete peace of mind for the rest of my life.
That all deaths within my family and circle of loyal friends are annulled.
That I be visited by a dragon from Tolkien's world: Glaurung the Father of Dragons, slain by Túrin Turambar. He was such a beast of a dragon in the books, and I'll love to see him close up in reality to feel the heat of his fierce breathe.
So, I'd love to hear what you'd write in your notebook??
This is a tricky question.
Your word for today is: SAPIOPHILE :)

Mine is pretty obvious. I'd write "Tomorrow I'll win the lottery and be able to quit my job, and everything I invest in will be an astounding success. This will lead me to be able to enjoy a life of doing what I want to do, instead of serving the whims of my corporate overseers."
Sounds good to me @cryptomancer - I think I'll make that one my #4 :)
I'd always thought being able to fly like Ironman would be cool, I'd probably write that in the magic book :)
Have a great day Mr Tony Stark aka @sandstorm :)
Thanks, and a great day to you too @mindhunter :)
Fly/Steem on @sandstorm!
Will do @mindhunter :)
I would write nothing.
I do not have a tight enough grasp of reality creation to trust my mechanisations. Without the time delay and the feedback loops inherit in our current reality, I couldn't handle it. The devastation caused would be immense.
In what you stated:
You would never have any new experiences, because anything new brings with it emotions of fear and trepidation. In hindu terms, creation is suffering. That you want something that you do not yet have causes you to feel a desire to fulfil that. (or suffering)
Death is but a doorway. It has been very important because most people lack the ability to get out of a deadly rut. So, they die, and are reborn to try again. To deny a group of people that greatest of gifts would be unthinkable to me.
I hope Glaurung is friendly towards you. Else, you may become an ever living, cinder bricket of a man.
Don't forget to write that you meet with the dragon and you share a nice tea, before parting each others company in good grace.
Exactly I obliterated all contrast in life so how do we grow? Well spotted @builderofcastles! I'm hoping Glaurung's breathe can clear a lake for me to generate some Steem :)
:^)
... and we shall roam the universe as spirits - away from our poor earthly bodies @semantralist :)
"No bamboozles"
... and the secrets to the universe please :)
Simply because of the way this always works in fiction, I'd have to write "What I write in this book becomes true in a straightforward, non-ironic and non-hazardous sense". There's just too many cursed monkey paws out there.
That sounds like legal-speak to me! Ha ha! The comments are proving popular on this one - I kinda thought they would ;)
Are you sure you'll still be alife after the last event?:)
He looks terrifying, but I'd write down to make sure he was tame for me! He could turn a whole lake to steem! Ha ha!
Huh, that's an idea:)
