I Live On?
I Live On
As fragile, weak
and dangerous hope is
I still live on it.
I live on the "if's"
and the "but's"
in all situations.
I live on the tiny
speck of light that
you see at the end
of the tunnel but
forget to acknowledge
how long the tunnel is.
I live on the those
words that people
tell me that
make me feel that everything
will be okay.
I live on the ticks
of the clock that
reassure me that
time will heal everything.
I live on the "maybe"
that people tell me.
I live on the uncertainty
of people being okay.
Yes.
I don't believe in hope,
but that's the only
thing I live on
when I have lost onto everything else.

This is a great poem. There are a lot of great lines in here but if I had to pick one, the following held the most meaning to me:
I live on the ticks
of the clock that
reassure me that
time will heal everything.
I also like how you were able to demonstrate the mystery of how you can lack belief in hope yet "live on it" at the same time. Thanks for sharing this.
