Happy National Ballpoint Pen Day!

in #life7 years ago

Hello Fellow Steemians,

I have been on a schedule from hell lately, so haven't hadn't had time to contribute here, but that's going to change real soon. I have some exciting news to report in my next post, but for right now, we're celebrating National Ballpoint Pen Day!

According to this website, "In June of 1943 the Bíró brothers, László and György, became owners of US Patent 2,390,636 – better known around the world as the ball point pen."

Here's another site that has info about this fun day:

My wife helped me celebrate with this gift, a box of my favorite pens:

As a writer of novels and screenplays, I always grab my notebook and one of my blue Papermate InkJoy pens and I am ready to write anywhere.

I like these pens in blue ink because everything that comes out of my printer is in black type. And all the forms we fill in these days are black type and boxes. The blue ink shows up well!

Recently, I visited some relatives and discovered my great-nephew likes to write and draw.

Here we are at work:

And don't you know, we both had green notebooks!

He was very happy when I treated him to one of my preferred pens.

It's always fun to celebrate these unique national days and celebrate inventions that many of us find useful.

Happy National Ballpoint Pen Day!

I actually never heard of national ballpoint pen day. It can be wierd how we never stand still and appreciate these kind of things like pens, paper clips, and rulers. Nice to know ballpoint pens have their own day

Yes, I like days like this. And to think if they didn't invent the ballpoint pen, we would still be carrying around inkwells and quills. :-)
