Other than oxygen and water, there is one more essential thing that people need to stay alive is food. In order to farm food, people need land which will be filled-up due to over-population, and they may not want to use forests land by eliminating long trees, because it may cause more damage to this planet. So it will be a big challenge to farm good quality food for 9 billion people in earth. Vertical farming is such an innovation that can solve this big problem.

Vertical farming is a kind of process which helps producing food in vertically stacked layers like in a skyscraper. They practiced vertical farming in warehouse, or shipping container. It is done by using indoor farming technique and controlled-environment agriculture technology. All environmental factors are controlled in this place. Less space will be occupied by vertical farming, and it may be capable to farm almost 1000 times more food on the same area of land.

it is genius because you can grow so much and won't be at the mercy of weather and pests lol

Governments should implement this ASAP!

Yes. It may be the future of earth

In addition to supplying food, these structures would also work wonders in reducing smog in urban areas. Of course it would need large scale implementation for any noticeable short-term effects.
