Employees work in different department of a corporate house. Some of them work in marketing department and spend better life than the people who, being seated on their chair, work on computer for a longer time. That means there is no movement in body and lack of movement produces many diseases.

In order to have healthy lifestyle, you must need some breaks to rejuvenate your working life, but it must be ensured that the break times are utilized for right purpose. Once upon my office offered many breaks, but later employees started to exploit this benefit. Breaks are now limited to one time a day.

HR professionals also support break time, though it may have undesired results for company. Human body needs rest to regain their power to work properly just like voting power in steemit. Continuous voting decreases voting power of steemit account and to recover it voting must be stopped for sometimes.

So, breaks are most important to recover the efficiency of employees. Increment of efficiency will maximize the output of company. Many employees have monotonous job to do which makes them to feel exhausted and body ache. They mainly face spondylitis. A few minute breaks can turn your mood towards work.

It increases your social activity and interaction with other employees within the office premises. Sameer Wadhawan, Vice President – HR and Services at Coca Cola India Inc., India and South West Asia, says:

“Rest breaks are an effective way of keeping fatigue at bay as they allow employees opportunities to refresh and rejuvenate themselves. This helps boost productivity.”

Rest Breaks in corporate life are important, but it must be ensured that HR policy is not getting broken. It must be used by abiding all company rules. It is seen that if break time is not fixed, employees often misuse it. Productivity of company can be affected, if each break time exceeds 15 to 20 minutes. To prevent the misuse, the organizations need to make some guidelines to be followed.

Opinion regarding extended breaks varies man to man. Lakshmi Murthy, chief people officer of ITM group of Institutions says:

“There would be about five per cent employees who would take extended breaks. These can be monitored. But, breaks cannot be based on a policy. They should be taken based on the necessity felt by the employee. Anything that gets regulated by the organization is a burden on the employees.”

Head-Human Resource & group support of Cybiz Corp Nitin Agarwal opines:

“If the break time is extended, the employee covers up his pending work the same day or the next. There is no penalty for such extensions as we are mature professionals and understand the working norms.”
