Flow is an interesting state that many of us have never heard of. It is a psychology term for the state that is more commonly known as "being in the zone". Characterized by hyper focus, increased activation of certain parts of the brains increase in activity while others actual decrease. When we are in flow we experience a deluge of certain key neurotransmitters that help us improve our focus and handle the demands of the activity at hand.
This is a wonderful video describing flow by the guys at the Flow Genome Project. They are one of the thought leaders in this space and have done an excellent job of decoding this once mysterious state.
