How to become mentally resilient

Before I start this blog I want to point out why is this topic so important. Our minds control everything. They control our emotions, our thoughts even our lives. But do we control our minds or do our minds control us? The answer is simple. 

We have the power to choose how to feel and what to think. We just need to train our minds. Here are a couple of tips that can help you.

 1. Find out what you are good at and what you struggle with.     

Try new things to see if you have any hidden talents. Focus and think it trough. Once you find out what your strengths are you will become more confident. And once you find out what your weaknesses are you will know what to work on.   


2. Stop overthinking and jumping to conclusions.

Overthinking is the worst thing you could do in any situation. By doing that you create more stress for yourself and the others. You also can't see the reality of the situation anymore because you are blinded by your thoughts. The best way to solve a problem is to take a step back and calm yourself. After that you calmly analyze the whole situation. Don't jump to conclusions. The best thing to do is to think about facts and not invent scenarios that don't exist.

3. Surround yourself with the right people. 

People that surround us often have a big influence on us. That's why we have to find the right company. People who motive you and give you constructive criticism are the type that you need. So get rid of people who push you down and make you stressed. This way you will be more relaxed and you will have more time to spend for useful things.

4. Create goals, make plans and stick to them.

 Self control isn't something that we are born with. We get it with practice and determination. Creating different goals will stimulate you to always keep your mind busy. By succeeding you will feel better about yourself and you will have more self control. Also by creating plans you have a more organized and less stressful life.


5. Think positive. 

This is an obvious one. Sometimes it's hard to see positive things in a tough situation. But this is the only way to calm yourself and to control your thoughts. If you think negative you will start jumping to bad conclusions and you won't be able to see the solution. That's why positive thinking can help you maintain a calm and focused mind.
