Atheism and the materialism trap
Atheism and the materialism trap.
"The fear of death is the beginning of slavery." - Robert Anton Wilson
Given the ideology of atheism usually leads one to materialism, where one is prone to develop an attachment to the physical things he or she owns, simple logic dictates that atheists are less likely to stand up for their rights in the face of tyranny, because they have far too much to lose. And by 'standing up for your rights,' I mean a willingness and conviction to put your life on the line knowing the outcome will be almost certain death -- not preaching about said 'rights' on social media behind the comfort of your keyboard.
If you're attached to your car, job, house, 42 inch plasma TV, income and all of the other material things our society is so obsessed with, would you be willing to give that all up in the name of freedom? Or is that too much of a scary thought, given death is so final?
"If you're not willing to die for it, remove the word 'freedom' from your vocabulary." - Malcolm X
If you have delved deeply enough into the nature of consciousness, you will come to understand that death is not final, that you are an eternal soul having a temporary experience in a physical body. The spiritually awake man or woman would never fall for the modern-day trappings of materialism nor be held back by the illusory fear of death.
“The first gulp from the glass of natural sciences will turn you into an atheist, but at the bottom of the glass God is waiting for you.” - Werner Heisenberg, founder of quantum mechanics, revolutionary scientist.
Atheism is a gateway drug that can lead to; nihilism, authoritarianism (see authoritarian regimes of Lenin, Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot), a sense of purposelessness (depression), egotism, intellectual superiority complex, social darwnism, materialism, reduced empathy and a deadened imagination. It is a toxic ideology that is holding humanity back from matriculating to higher levels of consciousness and thwarting the evolutionary progress of our species.
